Deleting Instagram on Android: Browsers, Cache, and Tablets

Deleting an Instagram account on Android always happens through a browser, never inside the app itself. Any Android browser gets you there

Chrome, Samsung Internet, Firefox for Android, and most other Android browsers all reach the same deletion page on instagram.com, and the steps are identical across them. There is no app-based deletion button on Android, regardless of which browser you use to log in. App misbehaving? Clear its cache first

If the Instagram app is crashing, stuck on a loading screen, or not sending you a login code, clear it out before switching to the browser:

• Open Android Settings and go to Apps (or Apps > See all apps).
• Tap Instagram, then Storage.
• Tap Clear cache first. If problems continue, use Clear storage, which signs you out completely.

Dual apps and work profiles: check which account you're in

Features like Samsung Dual Messenger, cloned-app tools, and Android work profiles let you run two separate instances of Instagram on one device, each signed into a different account. Before you request deletion, confirm the username shown in the app or browser session matches the account you actually intend to remove. Deleting the wrong instance will not affect the other one - the two accounts are entirely independent, even though they live on the same phone.
